36th Annual Q106.5 Egg Ride For Pine Tree Camp

Here’s how fast time flies. The Egg Ride Q106.5 will arrive in less than a month. And it will be 36th year!

Someone contact Bob Duchesne and tell him that what he created is still happening.

And with the snow falling, everyone involved is smiling and having their fingers crossed thinking “Let it snow. Let it snow. Let it snow!”

February 5 is the date of the trip. The reason we travel is to raise as much money as possible to benefit Pine Tree Camp.

Pine Tree Camp is for children and adults with disabilities, and they have an open door policy, where everyone can attend regardless of their ability to pay tuition.

So that’s where we come in, and why we’ll be part of the 49th Dysart’s annual snowmobile ride.

Here are the many ways you can help financially:

With as little as one dollar, you can be a part of the fundraising effort and feel good about having contributed.

Many businesses in the area sell cardboard eggs. They start with $ 1 and go up in price from there. They will ask you at the checkout if you want to buy ‘an egg’ to benefit Pine Tree Camp. You write your name on it and they display it on their walls.

Buy an egg now at:

  • Dysart restaurant and truck stop in Hermon
  • Dysart’s on Broadway
  • All Dysart trip stops (Newburgh, Old Town, Orono, Hampden, Holden, Lincoln and Pittsfield)
  • Danforth’s Downhome Supermarket in Hermon and Pittsfield
  • AERobinson locations in Dexter, Dover-Foxcroft and Greenville
  • Bear’s One Stop in Newport
  • Four Seasons Trading Post in Greenville
  • Tradewinds Market Plus in Clinton
  • Whitney Family Supermarket in Guilford and Corinth
  • Ware-Butler locations
  • Tri Pond variety in Smithfield

Thank you all. And revisit those stores to see how many eggs are decorating windows and walls closer to the promenade. It is a wonderful site.

You can also make a direct donation by credit / debit card and here is that link.

Or you can call the morning show Q106.5 at 991-9500 and make a commitment. We would love to talk to you!

Now about the Saturday February 5th trip. It will start and end at the Dysart truck stop in Hermon. The start time is at 10:30 am and we will return for lunch at Dysart’s restaurant.

This year’s route is from Dysart’s to Penobscot Snowmobile Club in Hermon, getting off the sleds for some fundraising activities and then back for the ride back to the start / finish line.

Cyclists so far include

  • Scott Miller and Cindy Campbell from morning show Q106.5. Hit that, since she’s done at least 35 of these rides:
  • Cindy Campbell and Scott Miller from The Q106.5 Morning Show.
  • Jared “Jedi” Baker from the Maine Cabin Masters TV show
  • Joseph Meyers from Quarantine Karaoke
  • John Gibbs, Ski-Doo Ambassador and Creator of New England Sled Talk
  • Bob Crowley from the TV show Survivor
  • Jake Warn of Sled TRX
  • Dan Cashman and Christine Robinson from The Nite Show with Danny Cashman on WABI TV5
  • Pine Camp Director Dawn Willard-Robinson
  • Garret Swazey from Paul Bunyan Snowmobile Club

And maybe more

Note that I have left the “egg” part of the program until the end.

We stuff our suits with raw eggs for the trip, and yes, it’s as messy as you can imagine.

I can’t stress enough how this is for kids to go to camp. And every dollar you make is greatly appreciated.

You are invited to share in the fun, join us on Saturday February 5 to start or end at Dysart’s Truck Stop or mid-point at Penobscot Snowmobile Club.
