Does Organic Food Really Make That Much of a Difference?

The motto we use is wholesome kindness delivered. That really sums up what we do because a lot of the things we do are considered healthy in a conventional sense, and they don’t contain organic pesticides, they are fresh. They were grown, picked today, and delivered tomorrow. Incredible nutrient density, right? That organic-based nutrition breaks down over time. The longer it is away from harvest, the less nutrient dense it will be. Those, those kinds of items are self explanatory. Then talk about some of the things that people don’t understand about pasture protein, right? Our red meat we sell our meat is grass fed and grass finished for people who are really passionate about healthy eating, they will totally understand the difference because grass fed doesn’t really mean anything, it just means the cow was grass fed in some point. And the finished grass means they were raised on pasture their entire lives. They only ate grass, which is what a cow is supposed to eat. And with that said, red meat, grass-fed, grass-finished beef is actually part of a healthy diet. That is an important and healthy fat, you have higher levels of selenium, iron, those trace minerals that you need. And then it can be part of a healthy diet, but then you talk about how our kitchen works. We make amazing meals.

Let’s say I go to the store and see only one package of chicken. Why would it be important to use a grass-fed or organic protein, compared to just choosing any old packet of meat?

I love that you asked about chicken because that’s one of the proteins that we make and I think it’s amazing. And we can bring that product to our customers here on Hampton Roads in Richmond, there is actually a waiting list to join the farmer approach. Co-op, there is a waiting list of farmers who want to transition from their old conventional ways of raising chickens to one of the big names they want to grow up for. Farmer’s approach. The reason is, they know that their method, the way these chickens are raised, is better for their family, right? For the peasant family, doing the work is better for the chickens during the life they have with us. It is better for the end user. Organic nutrition is important. Chickens that are raised in a conventional way are raised in these sheds. They are not exposed to light. They are full of antibiotics because they are raised in an environment that is not healthy for chickens. So when you raise a chicken that is unhealthy, you will put it in your body. You have an unhealthy product inside of you. The farmer’s approach method by allowing chicken things, pasture access, sunlight, breathing, fresh air, eating, just an organic food. You can produce a chicken. That is so healthy. You do not need antibiotics. And that’s the great debate. People say, no antibiotics. They are not doing anything special. What they are really doing is doing things the right way. They’re raising chickens, the way they were supposed to be raised, the way chickens raised themselves for thousands upon thousands of years, without the help of humans, it’s not like chickens need our antibiotics ago a hundred years. So that’s really what it is. It’s about getting back to basics, growing food, no matter what the food is, the way it should be raised, the way it should be grown and cultivated.
