Not A Lot Of Snow In The Berkshires,These Folks Got Slammed

So how good of a driver are you in the middle of a snowstorm? We have snow in the forecast for Friday for us here in the Berkshires, but we seem to handle quite well in snowy weather. One place that is not dealing with snowy weather is Virginia. so if you go down that road don’t take I95.

Drivers have been stuck in their vehicles on Interstate 95 in Fredericksburg (which I know of the area when I was working on the DC metro radio). They have had snow before, but not like this, and have been stuck in their vehicle for more than 10 hours due to traffic problems. caused by Monday’s wintry weather, some even had to spend the night in their cars without food or steady heat in freezing temperatures.

Some people who were stuck spoke to CNN and said they had to turn their car on and off to save gas, but also to keep warm. a person coming to New Hampshire for his vacation home is also paralyzed.

At around 8:30 p.m. Monday, the Virginia Department of Transportation said the setback was caused by a combination of downed trees and damaged vehicles.

As of 7:30, this morning’s vehicles are still standing on a 50-mile stretch of the interstate from Prince William County to Caroline County.

So as I look ahead to Friday, when we’re reportedly going to snow a little bit right now by 4-8 inches, just remember to drive safely, especially on our interstates.
