Girl Scout Cookies are Back With a New Treat

Now a good deal is offered for a limited time and benefits young entrepreneurs.

No need to contact the Better Business Bureau or consumer researchers, it’s not one of those bogus marketing schemes, it’s the start of the annual Girl Scout cookie program.

The Girls Scouts of NYPENN Pathways Council officially kicked off the 2022 cookie sales on January 11 with a new giveaway added to the list. Perhaps in a nod to some of the younger girl scouts, the newest cookies, Adventurefuls, are a brownie-based cookie with a dollop of caramel-flavored salted cream in the middle.

The new cookie joins the favorites: Do-si-dos, Thin Mints, Samoas and tempting Trefoils to break resolutions at five dollars a box.

The Girl Scouts annual fundraiser also teaches life skills, leadership, and business skills. There is an additional opportunity for the community to donate cookies. This year, the local program will send donated cookies to first responders as well as Meals on Wheels recipients for customers who choose to donate.

Registered Girl Scouts sell cookies and there are some contactless options available as well. Interested customers who do not know a Girl Scout can visit gsnypenn.org/cookies22 for information on how to contact a local troop.

Cookies will be available until March 27.
