A few National Bagel Day deals in NJ

Normally I would say that the National Day Calendar is ridiculously silly. Full of nonsense like National Day of Nowhere. That’s this weekend. January 16 is reserved to celebrate nothing.

Certain.

Then there’s National Walk Around Things Day on April 4. Yes, things like stumps, puddles, cracks in a sidewalk.

Many of these days are food related and useless. Like National Junk Food Day on July 21. Or National Any Chocolate Coverage Day on December 16.

But Saturday, January 15, is National Bagel Day.

Do I need to say more?

We don’t take our donuts lightly here in Jersey. If you don’t have a favorite bagel place, I guess you’re a transplant. If you never argued with a friend about cream cheese versus butter, I guess you’ve never had a bagel. Not even a frozen lender.

So on this National Bagel Day, forget about your troubles and celebrate with some specials. These are from app.com, but check the bagel joints in your area if you are not in the Ocean County area.

I think the best deal is at the New York Water Bagel Co. in Toms River. On Saturday, customers can enter a raffle to be decided at the end of the day. Four winners receive a dozen free bagels once a week for an entire year. They are at 542 Fischer Blvd.

Round Dough With A Hole in Point Pleasant Beach is offering a free bagel that day with any purchase. Richmond Avenue 400

Joe’s Bagel And Grill will give you four free bagels when you buy a dozen. Multiple locations, so check out joesbagelandgrill.com.

Belmar Bagels at 703 Belmar Plaza will give you four free bagels with a dozen you buy and half off a second bagel when you buy one with butter or cream cheese. (By the way, the correct label is cream cheese)

Hot Bagel Bakery in Ocean Township is offering $ 3 off a dozen bagels. Monmouth Road 65.

Remember that National Bagel Day is this Saturday, January 15th.
