Weinerschnitzel Restaurants Plan to Build 20 Stores in Arkansas

Remember when Texarkana used to have a Weinerschnitzel on State Line Avenue? For those who may not be familiar with the name, the franchise sold a variety of hot dogs as their specialty.

Well, it’s just been announced Wienerschnitzel has a new development agreement with Tejas Dogs LLC to build 20 restaurants in Arkansas over the next 12 years. According to Business Wire, booming Northwest Arkansas will be the first in the state to get 3 new stores.

Wienerschnitzel, the world’s largest hot dog franchise has been around for six decades, and most of their stores feature simple operations, with low food costs and corporate support. Markets like Arkansas have been underserved for years and with America’s love for hot dogs, Tejas Dogs LLC is hoping to continue its growth and expansion not only in Arkansas but other regions of the country as well. Wienerschnitzel stores will also serve Tastee Freez soft-serve ice cream.

About Wienerschnitzel

The Galardi Group Inc. has 330 Wienerschnitzel restaurants in 10 states and is also the franchisor of Tastee Freez and Hamburger Stand. The company was founded in 1961 by John Galardi and Weinerschnitzel has served more than 120 million hot dogs annually making it the largest hot dog chain in the world.

Remember when Texarkana also used to have a Tastee Freez?

So, what do you think? Would you like to see Wienerschnitzel come back to Texarkana?

I vote, “Bring it Back,” we’ve already got enough burger joints.

I am hoping that of the 20 new restaurants they are planning on building in Arkansas, one of them will be built here.
