Eight restaurants in London have been included in the Michelin Guide for Great Britain and Ireland 2022.
The Michelin Guide is produced by the French tire company Michelin, which has been going since 1904, and can award up to three Michelin stars for excellence to a select few establishments.
This is a highly coveted award in the culinary world, with even those getting two or one stars being well-commended.
There were two new restaurants in the county that were recognized for Michelin stars, and several were promoted to another level of Michelin star.
The new addition was Evelyn’s Table based in Soho which also won the award for best Young Chef Award and was awarded one Michelin star.
Also new to the list is Marylebone-based Kol gaining one Michelin star, with its Mexican style food rooted from various regions of Mexico.
Evelyn’s Table is a tiny speakeasy-themed restaurant that serves original dishes but with a twist of French and Japanese techniques.
Frog by Adam Handling also received one Michelin star with its eye-catching dishes that use classic techniques in an exciting way and is most famous for its bread served with chicken skin butter and liver pate.
Jamavar also won one Michelin star with its Indian food that has even featured in the royal kitchens.
Sollip gains a one Michelin star and is based just near the Shard and run by a husband and wife team that serves Korean food honoring their culture.
Southwark-based Trivet not only won one Michelin star but also won the award of Sommelier.
The last of the one Michelin star winners is Wild Honey St James which offers a European menu that is appealing to all.
There were two London restaurants that gained a two Michelin star rating both of which were promoted from a one-star rating.
The Clove Club in Shoreditch serves a wide range of dishes from Orkney scallops to dry-aged Middlewhite pork.
Fellow two Michelin star-rated restaurant Ikoyi based in St James serves brilliant food all made using organic food from British retailers.
