Two Area Teams #1 in Latest Minnesota HS Basketball Rankings

Two teams from southeast Minnesota remain at the top of their class in the latest High School boys basketball rankings released from Minnesota Basketball News Wednesday.

With the Girls State Basketball Tournament set to get underground next week, only the boys’ rankings were published. You can see the latest girls’ basketball rankings here.

The Section 1 Girls’ Championship games will be played on Thursday and Friday this week. The matchups are below:

Section 1A Championship – #1 Hayfield vs. #3 Grand Meadow – Thursday, March 10th at 6 pm (You can listen to the game on 103.1 KFIL)

Section 1AA Championship- #2 Rochester Lourdes vs. #5 Lake City – Thursday, March 10th at 8 pm

Section 1AAA Championship – #1 Austin vs. #2 Stewartville – Friday, March 11th at 8 pm

Section 1AAAA Championship – #1 Rochester John Marshall vs. #2 Lakeville North – Friday, March 11th at 6 pm

Minnesota Boys Basketball Rankings

Hayfield is ranked #1 in Class A, while Caledonia is #1 in Class AA. Rushford-Peterson, Spring Grove, and Goodhue remained ranked in Class A. Plainview-Elgin-Millville, Lake City, and LaCrescent-Hokah are also ranked in Class AA.

Austin and Stewartville are ranked in Class AAA. Owatonna is the lone-ranked area team in Class AAAA.
