Burlington,Tiff’s Treats, McAlister’s Plan March El Paso Openings

A national off-price department store expands its footprint in El Paso this month while two national food chains open their first location.

The Austin-based on-demand warm cookie company Tiff’s Treats, McAlister’s Deli, and Burlington have all set March opening dates for their new stores.

Northeast Burlington

The northeast is moving on up. First, a brand new Olive Garden and on Friday, March 18, the newest Burlington opens its doors.

The fourth El Paso location opens at 8 am at 9484 Dyer in the old Kmart building that has been redeveloped and is now anchored by Ross, DD’s and Five Below.

According to a company press release, the first 100 adult customers through the door on opening day will receive a $5 bonus card, and a free Burlington umbrella will be given away to all customers while supplies last.

Cookie delivery sweet shop Tiff’s Treats will start delivering from its first El Paso location in the Fountains of Farah beginning March 26, according to ABC7.

Although primarily a “warm cookie” delivery company, orders can be placed online or over the phone and picked up at the store. Walk-ins are also welcome, but cookies sold from the in-store display case are first come first serve and selection is limited.

Eastsiders who want to get their sandwich on will have another choice around the end of the month.

McAlister’s Deli will be opening its first location in El Paso at The Reserve at Rich Beem, located at the corner of Rich Beem and North Zaragoza.

According to its website, McAlister’s is known for their “craveable sandwiches, spuds and salads” and their “famous McAlister’s Sweet Tea” which can be purchased by the glass or gallon.

The sign hanging outside the building and on the company website reads “coming soon,” but a restaurant employee I spoke with said they hope to open by the of March — the beginning of April, at the latest.

A second McAlister’s Deli is in the works at Eastlake Commons, the open-air shopping center at 12221 Eastlake Blvd, across the street from Eastlake Marketplace.
