There are about 3,400 students in the Hannibal School District, and it would be safe to say that each of them lined the hallways of their respective elementary, middle, and high schools on Thursday so the Pirates know they back them 100 percent. .
There is a series of videos on the Hannibal Pirates athletics and activities Facebook page, each of which shows students, most wearing their best red and black, supporting the Pirates as team members spend the day walking. through the corridors, obviously feeding off the energy generated by the students. , teachers and staff.
The parade started in high school.

Mark Twain Elementary School
Even the Early Childhood Center got involved in the act.
You get the idea.
And what a great idea it was to have these young people that many of the elementary students look up to and want to one day be walking the corridors of their respective schools, giving future Pirates a close-up look at their heroes.
In case you’ve been out of town in the past week, the Hannibal Pirate football team will play Show-Me Bowl Class 4 for the state championship on Friday at 11 a.m. at Farout Field in Columbia.
The team will depart high school for Columbia at 6 a.m. Friday and fans are encouraged to line up on McMasters Avenue heading south to see off the Pirates. I also saw a post from Wright’s Furniture, offering their Southern US parking lot to fans.
