A man from Grand Gorge, New York, died after state police said he ended up in a creek in his truck.
Officers were called to State Route 42 in the city of Lexington in Greene County at approximately 8:11 p.m. on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 for a report of a Ford-150 in a creek with an unconscious operator.
Greene County paramedics were the first to arrive at the scene and determined that the truck operator was dead.
New York State Police believe the driver was heading north on State Route 42 in “Lexington when the vehicle turned off the highway on the east shoulder.” Then the truck collided with a utility pole and stopped in a stream.
The driver has been identified by police as Douglas Cronk, 53.
Authorities say the accident is still under investigation.
