As the cool (ish) breeze begins to sweep across the streets, squares and parks of our sprawling county, the allure of outdoor farmers markets grows faster than a pumpkin. Here’s the lowdown on some of the best markets for the freshest local produce, unique Miami-made crafts, and the tastiest homemade bites of the season. Most markets are open year round, unless otherwise noted. It is always best to check the websites of the individual markets before heading out, because most markets are outdoors and subject to the vagaries of the weather.

Adrienne Arsht Center Farmers Market

This night market caters to people ages nine to five looking to stock up on healthy food for the rest of the work week ahead. About 15 vendors offer local honey, tropical fruits, and fresh flowers, among other delicacies. Shoppers can also enjoy live music and workshops with food writers and chefs. Reservation and pick-up option available through Urban Oasis Project. Open Mondays from 4 to 7 pm (reopens in December, then all year long).

Aventura Gardens Farmers Market

A subscription club of products, handmade jewelry, CBD-infused yerba mate and nursery-grown plants are among the many treasures to be found in this thriving market, which seats about 35 vendors each weekend. Local musicians create the wonderful soundtrack for this outdoor shopping adventure. Check out the market’s Facebook page for food truck movie nights and other special events. Surfside Farmers Market

This home market returns this fall to bring some local flavor and brighten the streets of Surfside after the July condo tragedy. The market offers rates from a dozen vendors and is open every Sunday, but attendees can listen to live music on the last Sunday of the month, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. It runs until December 26. Vizcaya Village Farmers Market
