It will be four years, on February 18, when the parents of 10-year-old London Eisenbeis lived their worst nightmare. Although four years have passed, London’s legacy lives on, and an upcoming celebrity basketball game is scheduled to honor the Grand Blanc student.
During a family outing to a local water park in 2018, London’s heart stopped beating after her heart went into an abnormal rhythm as she made her way down the four-story waterslide, causing her to go into cardiac arrest. Sadly, the vibrant, active 10-year-old boy passed away from what was an undetected heart rhythm condition called long QT syndrome.
Since then, London’s mother, Tina, has made it a mission to educate and provide DEA throughout the community in an effort to save lives through the London Strong Foundation. Through the foundation, he hopes to emphasize the importance of cardiac examinations for children and to emphasize the importance of CPR / AED training.
The big game
A large part of allowing the London Strong Foundation to provide classes and AED depends on fundraising efforts. To honor not only London, but also to help raise much-needed funds, the Tri-City WELS Men’s Basketball League will host the 7th Annual Celebrity All-Star Game on March 27.
The game, which will face Kylee Miller and Chris Easlick of WNEM TV5 Weather, along with their teams, will take place at the Michigan Lutheran Seminary beginning at 5:00 pm. Look for all-star players like Darien Harris, Andrew Heller, Anthony Dirrell and Victor Arroyo from Eldest brother hitting the court.
