Voted the best pizza in the country by Barstool Sports, this Connecticut pizza legend has just announced another new location.
Recently we told you about Sally’s Apizza being voted the “Best in the Country” by Dave Portnoy of Barstool Sports.
Now here’s some more good news about Sally’s Apizza. Sally’s just announced this week that its opening another new location, it will be in Fairfield, Connecticut, and it will be opening this summer.
Sally’s took to their Facebook page on Monday, which just happened to be National Pi Day, to make the announcement that they will be coming to Fairfield with a new location.
The expansion for the pizza giant started back in the fall when Sally’s opened up it’s very first location outside of their original store in New Haven. The new loaction in Stamford has been opened since October, and now it’s time to add a third location.
According to ctinsider.com, the Fairfield Planning Commission had received a permit for renovation work to be done in a former restaurant at 665 Commerce Drive, which is a luxury apartment complex with retail space on the ground floor. Plus a spokesperson for Sally’s did announce back in October, when the Stamford location opened, that they would be adding locations in Fairfield, Norwalk, and even Wethersfield.
Founded by Salvatore “Sally” Consiglio in 1938, Sally’s has been a staple for pizza lovers in New Haven and is famous for its signature tomato sauce and chewy, crispy, charred crust, and now with locations popping up all over Fairfield County, Sally’s Apizza lovers won’t have to travel that far to enjoy what “Barstool Sports” Dave Portnoy calls “the best pizza in the entire country.”
