Delco Police Officer Makes Top 10 List on SWAT Challenge

Law enforcement officers have had it tough for quite some time. Officers across the country have been risking their lives to protect and serve during this pandemic.

All of these men and women who serve our communities deserve great recognition and that is exactly what a Pennsylvania police officer is getting.

According to 6abc, a police officer, Chris Signore, who is part of the Newtown Township Police Department in Delaware County, placed in the “top ten in the national SWAT fitness challenge.”

From what we learned in 6abc, this challenge was not easy. Officer Chris Signore was required to do an “800-meter sprint, followed by a 400-meter sprint with weights.” Thats not all. Chris Signore also told 6abc that other challenges he had to do included “burpees, jump squats and chin-ups. Most of this was done with a gas mask, no filter, full gear.”

On the website of the National Association of Tactical Officers, it shows that there are a total of 5 different tests.

Sounds like a lot of physical work. Personally, I probably wouldn’t even make it to the middle of the challenge.

It was stated in 6abc that the SWAT Physical Fitness Qualification test of the National Association of Tactical Officers was conducted nationwide for the first time in 2021. It all started in April 2021.

Chris Signore told 6abc that he hopes these challenges will motivate others to join different police departments to serve and make a difference in communities.

To all law enforcement officers, thank you for your service.
