A unique dining concept that began in Paris during 2004 is opening its first pop-up restaurant at a UK hotel.
Dans Le Noir?, the renowned dine in the dark experience, will welcome guests at Swinfen Hall Hotel, a stately manor house in the heart of Staffordshire, from March 1-31.
The Dans Le Noir? collection offers the opportunity to taste gourmet, creative and seasonal cuisine in complete darkness, accompanied and served by unexpected guides. The concept is an original experience that allows diners to re-evaluate perception of taste and touch, while reclaiming and reinvigorating the senses.
Tastebuds will be heightened and invigorated by the exquisite meal, served by experienced waiters and waitresses, in pure darkness. No photography is allowed to maintain the blackout.
Surprise menus will delight diners, using the finest, seasonal organic fruit and vegetables, free range and outdoor reared meats, accompanied by a refined and specially curated wine. Guests will be exposed to flavours, aromas, textures and temperatures, to fully awaken the senses.
On arrival, guests will be met by the blind guide and escorted to a table where an introduction to the experience will be made and the service begins. Diners will not be informed of the menu’s contents until the end of the event.
Swinfen Hall is a beautiful, 250 year old country mansion set in a 100-acre estate with landscaped gardens and a private deer park located near Lichfield, with 18 beautifully appointed bedrooms.
The experience including three-course dinner and wine costs £95pp. To book contact: https://swinfenhallhotel.co.uk/dining-in-the-dark/
