I Can’t Believe What I DIDN’T See At My Local Grocery Store

I went grocery shopping this weekend and couldn’t believe it.

Deja vu again with empty shelves. What was it before, toilet paper? Lysol and Clorox wipes. Now, there’s more than enough of that stuff and the cleaning supplies, but what about everything else?

I went to ShopRite and Target this past weekend looking for chicken and guess what, no chicken. I did some research on why the shelves were so empty. Everyday stuff we used, and nothing was available. I was thinking it was the time I walked in. I doubt it, it was around 3pm on a Sunday afternoon, how can they be empty? I’ve never come across this before, other than the toilet paper and cleaning supplies aisle at the start of the pandemic. Unless you bought in bulk, you basically ran out of toilet paper.

This time, from what I’m reading, there are two reasons for the scarcity of our favorite things, according to bloomburg.com. Since the beginning of omicron, people began to panic, once again, and factory and port closures caused many supplies to accumulate.

It’s crazy, I’ve been looking for cream cheese for a while and it’s always out… cream cheese is on the list of things missing from the shelves. Who knows? I wasn’t freaking out because I couldn’t find cream cheese and throw away the milkshake and I can never find that again.

According to bloomburg.com, these are the top 5 grocery items missing from shelves across the country right now: baking supplies, cocoa/milk flavoring mixes, cream cheese, sports drinks, and juice boxes. It’s crazy, the list also includes: cookies, salty snacks and pasta.

What do you have trouble finding in your supermarket?
