As mentioned above, this oatmeal cream is made without added sweeteners, but due to processing regulations, it contains “added sugars.” To make oat milk products smooth (or, to put it bluntly, less slimy), they use enzymes to break down carbohydrates. This produces simple sugars that, by regulation, must be counted as added sugars.
