Rochester Firefighters Respond To Fire In Bitterly Cold Weather

Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) – Rochester firefighters had to fight the flames AND intense cold early Sunday morning.

Crews were dispatched to 235 11th Ave NE around 2:30 a.m. to deal with a detached garage fire that had already spread to three nearby vehicles and threatened a home.

The air temperature at that time was hovering around -15 degrees.

The Rochester Fire Department says “the garage and three vehicles had a total loss estimated at $ 100,000.” A firefighter suffered an undisclosed injury.

The cause is under investigation.
