Whether you’re avoiding gluten due to health issues like celiac disease or your body is simply sensitive to gluten, finding safe gluten-free options can be challenging. We’re making it easy to dine out at the Burg while keeping gluten away.

Adieu Glu, online only

Adieu Glu is an amazing new country kitchen in sunny St. Pete. Owner Deb Cooper is serving 100% gluten-free baguettes, bagels, cupcakes, and great cookies.

The dedicated gluten-free concept operates directly from the kitchen of owner and baker Deb Cooper. Cooper was diagnosed with celiac disease in 2004 and stopped eating bread for 12 years.

The chocolate chip cookies are gigantic and so good. But the sourdough baguette is a must-try for anyone in Sunshine City. Everything is freshly made. Treat yourself to a cupcake while you make it, the frosting makes it look like a real flower.

Ciccio Cali St. Pete is serving California-inspired gluten-free bowls. They have a variety of menu items that are gluten-free, filling, healthy, and satisfying. We highly recommend ordering The Fitness Bowl (grilled blackened chicken, charred broccolini, lime vinaigrette, and a side of hot sauce) with pumpkin spaghetti or trying one of their tasty GF pizza crusts.

With an efficient assembly line style setup, they give you the speed of a fast food restaurant without all the negative health issues of traditional fast food. While you’re in line, be sure to pick up a package of their Chocolate Zucchini Brownies and a Strawberry Chiwee Juice to accompany your meal.

Love Food Central is all about their food being vegan and gluten-free, as well as made with organic, local, and non-GMO ingredients. This trendy cafe is also home to two of our favorite veggie sandwiches: The Pulled BBQ Sandwich (featuring delicious sourdough and jackfruit bread from Sami’s Bakery) and The Ridiculous Burger (homemade beet and black bean burger topped with vegan cheese sauce) and sautéed mushrooms and onions).

Noble Crust uses seasonal southern ingredients to create an Italian meal you won’t want to miss. We recommend their infamous Noble Pig pizza (pepperoni, sweet fennel sausage, spicy soppressata, pickled peppers, caramelized onions, ketchup, fontina, parmesan, and an egg, all on top of a GF crust). If you don’t want to be so daring, Margherita pizza in a GF crust is always a classic.

HaleLife Bakery, 205 1st Street North

HaleLife Bakery is one of the most popular gluten-free bakeries in the Tampa Bay region, and is now open in downtown St. Petersburg. The place is located at the corner of 1st Street and 2nd Avenue North on the same strip as Shave Cave.

HaleLife’s finest options include a cinnamon apple pie, fresh cinnamon rolls, tiramisu cookie and donut dough, and delicious no-yeast breads.

Karma Restaurant and Juice Bar

While Karma is well known for its vibrant açai smoothies, juices, and bowls, it also has some extra GF gems hidden up its sleeve. Not only are their salads delicious and fresh, the serving sizes in the bowls are more than satisfying! The Avocado Mint Salad and the Asian Chicken Salad (use Tamari instead of soy sauce in the ginger dressing) are our two must-haves. They also have GF bread if you have a craving for avocado toast that you need to fill up.

Our new favorite gluten-free restaurant is Dr. BBQ. All of their meats are gluten-friendly and everything you can eat is clearly labeled on their menu (20+ items!). We recommend starting with the kimchi fries (hand-cut crispy fries topped with locally sourced caramelized kimchi, homemade Korean BBQ sauce, lime cream, and green onions) and finishing with a Brazilian pineapple (marinated and roasted half a pineapple). toasted with a cinnamon-brown sugar rum glaze).
