Toms River home deemed ‘unsafe’ after Jackson man crashes into it

TOMS RIVER — A Jackson man driving without a license was seriously injured after crashing into a home Friday night, according to township police.

Toms River Police responded to an accident around 11:30 p.m. on Cox Cro Road near the intersection of Old Freehold Road.

First responders removed Lopez-Serrano from the vehicle and transported him to Jersey Shore Medical Center due to the severity of his injuries.

His condition was not known as of Sunday afternoon.

The home was inspected by the Toms River Building Department and found to be structurally unsafe, police said.

López-Serrano has been cited for failing to keep in the lane, reckless driving, driving without a license, driving with a suspended license and failing to display an insurance card.

Additional charges were pending Sunday, according to police, as the crash remained under investigation.
