Why an organic way of life is even more important in the time of COVID crisis

The pandemic generated a crisis never seen before: economic, social and personal, which caused a setback in the use of resources, in other words, a movement towards a sustainable or organic life. The key goal is to do more with less and help maintain natural resources. This had a profound impact on industries as diverse as fashion and food. Recycling, sustainable means of obtaining fabrics, best environmental practices to protect and nurture, all coupled with a boom in sustainable fashion. All over the world, major fashion brands began to focus on their sustainable lines. At home, Lakmé Fashion Week had a sustainable fashion segment.

Perhaps the biggest wake-up call was felt in the food we eat space. People woke up to the critical lack of comprehensive immunity in urban communities that, in a way, had caused the crisis to erupt. The old saying: you are what you eat has never been truer. The lack of holistic immunity can be attributed to several factors such as stress, sedentary habits and lack of sleep, but the most important factor is what we eat. (Image: istock)
